AI Data Disclosure

Momentus uses third-party AI services to turn your conversations into transcripts, summaries, and action items. Before any of your data is sent, we want you to know exactly what is shared and who it's shared with — and we ask for your permission first.

What data is sent

When you record or process a meeting, Momentus may send the following to its AI partners:

  • Your audio recording
  • The transcript generated from that audio
  • Speaker information (labels or names you confirm)

Provider notes: AssemblyAI's current standard terms may permit submitted data to be used for service or model improvement, subject to your account configuration and any available opt-out. Momentus requires service providers that receive personal data to protect it to the same or an equivalent standard described in our Privacy Policy and required by applicable law. Ask Momentus may use Anthropic's server-side web search. Anthropic processes the search queries and results as part of the Claude API request.

Your permission

The first time you process a recording, Momentus will show this disclosure in the app and ask for your permission before sending any data to these services. You can change your mind at any time in Settings. Turning off cloud AI processing stops new data from being submitted, but it cannot retroactively erase data that has already been processed under a provider's retention rules. Deleting a recording in Momentus triggers deletion of the corresponding data where the provider supports it. You can delete any past recording or its notes whenever you like.

Your choices

  • Grant or withdraw consent for AI processing at any time in the app's Settings.
  • Delete recordings and notes individually, or request full account deletion by contacting support.
  • Sync via iCloud: when iCloud Sync is enabled, your recordings (including audio) and notes sync through your private iCloud account.
For full details on how each provider stores and retains data, see our Privacy Policy. Questions? Email support@momentusnotes.com.
